The Difference Between Healing and Alignment

Tetla Mendez CampbellAugust 20265 min read

For a long time, I thought healing was the goal. I prayed for healing. I sought healing. I believed that once I was healed, I could finally move forward with my life.

But God showed me something that shifted everything: healing is not the destination. It is the doorway.

When God heals us, He is not simply restoring us to who we were before the pain. He is preparing us for who He has called us to become. Healing clears the ground. Alignment builds on it.

Alignment is the process of getting our hearts, our minds, our priorities, and our steps in order with God's plan for our lives. It is where we begin to understand why we went through what we went through — and how it connects to where God is taking us.

I have seen this in my own life. The healing I received from past wounds did not just make me feel better. It positioned me. It gave me a testimony. It gave me compassion for others who were walking through similar valleys. It gave me a message.

That is what alignment does. It takes what God has done in you and begins to direct it outward — toward the people He has called you to serve, the assignment He has placed on your life, and the legacy He desires to build through you.

If you are in a season of healing right now, do not rush past it. Let God do the deep work. But also know that healing is not where the story ends. It is where your assignment begins to take shape.

You are being healed for a purpose. And that purpose is greater than you can imagine.

With love and faith,
